I am a physician whose practice of Medicine spans more than 30 years. My calling began shortly after I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 7. My own physician was an inspiration--instilling belief that my life would be lived fully without limitation--and as I grew older I committed to follow his path. My pursuit was direct and single minded: high school prep, college pre-med. medical school and post-graduate Residencies and Research Fellowship. I am now an MD with specialty training in Endocrinology and Diabetes. From 1981 until 2014 I was in solo practice in Bellingham, Washington, where I came to know and deeply care about many people with Endocrine disorders and Diabetes.
I have always believed that living with a chronic medical condition doesn't mean a daily life of "chronic illness." The more people I have come to know through my years of practice the more I see that what a person believes about their state of wellness plays a major role in how their body, mind and spirit function. These observations led me, over the years, to expand my knowledge and and understanding not only within Endocrinology but within the fields of neuroscience, immunology, alternative and integrative medicine and the world's spiritual disciplines.
I am now retired from my practice yet still want to reach out to others by pursuit of my passion as healer in this new venue.
